Best Ski/Split Pack Ever!

"Truly the best do it all ski pack I’ve ever had. Can cinch down to the size of a 10l for resort/side country days, but also fits everything you need for a 3 day ski traverse. Works well in a-frame carry as well as vertical board carry on the back (why don’t more packs have this?!) Side zip is perfect for quick access to layers/water. 60+ days on the pack this season and the only damage is on the shovel/probe sleeves where the shovel blade rubs inside the pack. S/M is a bit smaller than with other brands, so unfortunately waiting on M/L to come back in stock to get something a little better fitting. BD PLEASE make this in the ultra!"

Best backcountry backpack ever

"The Cirque 50 Black Diamond backpack is basically that one friend who never overpacks, never forgets anything important, and somehow still has room for snacks. It has everything you need nothing less, nothing more. No weird extra straps, confortable enough to A-frame your skis, no mysterious pockets you’ll never use. Just clean, thoughtful design. It carries well, feels solid, and doesn’t try to be flashy about it. It just does its job. The only thing missing? A built-in hot pocket for backcountry onigiris. Simple and capable."

Fantastic Pack

"I bought this pack for a 1 night hut trip and it was fantastic! Thankfully the hut I was skiing to was fully stocked, so I didn't need to be too careful with how I packed, but I had lots of room for my quilt/pad/water/food/emergency gear/layers. I added a small camera bag and multitool to the outside for easy access and that was great. The external avy tool pocket was a smart addition and I was able to store my skins in there easily when transitioning. The side zip access was great for accessing my water bottle. The pack is robust and sturdy and I was able to ski easily with the load. I have no durability concerns with this, and am looking forward to my next trip with this pack! Thank you BD!"

The Perfect Mountaineering Pack

"This is my new Go-to pack for all my mountain adventures! Light and fast, but also big enough for the long hauls. Comfortable even on the long days. Would definitely recommend!"

Rip in bag

"I recently purchased this bag and was really hopeful about how it would hold up. Unfortunately after my third time out I had some snowshoes attached to the bag as well I made sure the spikes on these particular snowshoes were dull enough that I shouldn't have had to worry about ripping the bag at all. I guess the material it is made of is a very weak material and I got about a 2 inch cut in the bag. Once again I checked and in my head there absolutely no way something that is a "quality" product would tear from the setup I had. I would recommend black diamond to put a better quality material to use especially considering this is a "technical mountaineering/ski" bag."

Durable and Compressable

"As far as backcountry ski packs go, the Cirque 50 does a great job of providing lots of storage and good compressibility. If it had a diagonal carry like the 35, I would give it 5 stars."

Perfect ski touring guides pack

"Carries well, great avy tool pocket that will fit any size shovel, easy roll top, side zip, and capacity for anything but the kitchen sink. Skeptical about the fabric durability. Otherwise great value… no regrets!"

A nice lightweight pack with

"A nice lightweight pack with some very nice features. It carries well and is comfortable whether loaded up or cinched down. The gear pocket is tall enough to easily fit a 320 cm probe in contrast to many packs. Only drawbacks are that the top pocket has been moved to the back of the pack so it has a tendency to catch on anything inside. Also the wrap down top closure system bulges upward when the pack isn't full."

Perfect Overnight Pack

"I bought this pack to be able to haul a little extra gear for those overnight missions. In the past, I would use a smaller pack with all sorts of things strapped to it. The Cirque 50 fits everything I need inside the pack perfectly. And, it straps down very small so it's easy to use the same pack to haul gear out and to tour while you're out in the backcountry. It is one large compartment, which makes it a little challenging to access the inner compartment on the fly, but the handy little side pocket is the secret weapon. When you pack, just be sure to put anything you need access to near that side zipper and it all works out. The Cirque 50 is like a large minimalist pack - there aren't a lot of extra bells and whistles, but it has everything you need. For me, it fit my need perfectly."
