perfect touring glove

"Loving these, the glove is breathable and dexterous and the mitten is warm if you're in the wind, or it's super cold. I've used these on some cold Idaho mornings and haven't yet had to break out a bigger/warmer glove."

Great all around touring glove

"After two dozen day touring, these have become my go-to gloves in the snow. Thin and nimble enough to work all my zippers, yes even the armpits on my lightest touring jacket, and warm enough with the over-mitts to keep the fingers warm on the windy ridges. First though was that the added bulk at the wrist would be annoying, but the only time I've ever notices it has been trying to tuck them into my sleeves. The leather palm grips your poles well, and the suede thumb is great for clearing your goggles. They do run slightly small, so if you like roomy gloves, you should probably size up."

Excellent Adaptability

"Took the gloves xc skiing in Vermont. The mittens come in handy when the hands get cold, and once I’m moving again I can switch back to keep my hand temperature regulated. Durable build and very satisfied."

All in all I would

"All in all I would definitely recommend these gloves. They've kept my hands warm in 20-30 degree weather. To be clear, I did also use thin liners (but I have terrible circulation as it is). If I were doing extended overnight trips or prolonged winter camping, I would probably go with one of Black Diamond's beefier models, though. Pros: -Fit true to size - Lots of color options - Weather resistance does work - The insulation in the hood is adequate to keep you warm. Cons: - Storing the hood in the wrists does make for some bulk. But I do think storing it on the bottom is better than on the top of the wrist. - Most of the insulation seems to be in the hooded part. But even with the hood on, I retained enough dexterity to shovel snow or do tasks that don't require much fine motor skills."

The most versatile winter glove you can get?

"The most versatile gloves I've worn in over 45 years of climbing and skiing. I suffer from Reynaud's but these gloves cover everything for me from nordic skiing in New England to ski touring in 0F temps in the Ellsworth Mountains of Antarctica. When it gets too cold for these, I move to Guide Gloves or heavier down mitts. The key to the Cirque's success is that a) they're not too warm, so your hands don't sweat; b) they're thin and dextrous, so you don't need to take them off for fine tasks; and c) they have a good insulated overmitt, that makes a real difference when needed. Add in hand warmers and you're good to go for something like a 20-degree temperature range. Oh, and despite their lightweight construction, they're tough and take a beating. I have the first generation glove with the mitt on the outside of the cuff. No idea why they changed it for the newer version as mine are close to perfect."

Great dexterity, but not warm enough for resort skiing

"I chose these gloves specifically because of the official description and because I tend to run hot. Even on winter hikes, I usually do fine with regular lightweight gloves, and I really don’t like the loss of dexterity that comes with mitts. On paper, these seemed like a perfect match. The gloves do look great and feel great. They’re very lightweight, fit well, and the dexterity is excellent — handling poles and gear feels natural. Unfortunately, they didn’t keep my hands warm during a resort ski day at Sun Peaks. Temperatures were above freezing with very little wind, and my activity level was moderate since I was in a ski lesson with a fair amount of standing around. Despite normally not getting cold hands, my hands were uncomfortably cold for much of the time. These gloves clearly favor light weight and dexterity over warmth. I can see them working well for high-output backcountry or touring, but as a primary resort glove — especially for learning days or slower-paced skiing — they just weren’t warm enough for me."

Interesting design changes

"First overgloves I’ve used where the over glove stows on the inside of the wrist vs the outside. Doesn’t bother me, as I’m not a watch wearer, but if I was, these would probably be frustrating. Otherwise appear to be a little more robust than the last cirque gloves (that I went through in a season). Generally, over gloves are amazing"

Lightweight

"Exactly what I need for split boarding"

Great fast tour gloves

"Loving the hooded design. Plenty warm for tours where you’re not stopping much. For digging pits and stopping a lot, I’d bring another pair of gloves to swap"

Chandler K. (5/5)

Great Gloves

"I love these for use down to -10c. I’ve used them several times now in heavy wind and snow conditions."
