"I've had two of these fail on me. First one, the lens spontaneously cracked. Second one, battery died permanently (was near fully charged at the time, in use on a mountain, and just suddenly went dark). That's two more failures than I ever want to see in a critical piece of safety equipment. My 15 year old Black Diamond headlamps are still going strong. Quality has slipped since then."
"Used this for my first 100km ultra and lasted for appx 3-4 hours. Needed to carry a separate battery bank to charge but lightweight and comfortable. The adjustable flip is kinda hard to get used to at first but becomes easier over time."

"Pros Lock feature 600 lumen Swappable battery and rechargeable Before buying be aware that the claimed 1100 is for the "flash" feature that illuminated for 20 seconds. Im not going to lie, its annoying its not a more controllable feature. but its a solid headlamp works well with helmet compatability and is brighter then the rest of the bd line up."
"Great fitting headlamp that is light, adjustable, and super bright. My only problem is that on a cold night ski tour it only lasted about 1. 5 hours, not the advertised 4 or so. BD has been quick to respond and offered a warranty replacement (which sadly you have to pay shipping, no biggie) but I am going to give it one more outing before saying it’s broke. Other than that it is a great headlamp that I didn’t even notice was on my head!"
"More comfortable and lighter than my previous headlamp. Buttons are easier to use and I like that the battery can be swapped out on those long treks. The power boost option is helpful, but I wish it could be prolonged or sustained at 1100 lumens. Recommend!"

"I have owned a wide variety of headlights over the past 20+ years and I think the Distance LT 1100 is the best of the bunch. I love that it is ridiculously bright when. you need it to be but that it can be turned down when you don't need all those lumens. The 3 color alternate LED is a great feature not just for the specific things that red, green and blue lights are used for but also, less technically I sometimes use blue over red because even though the science says red for night vision, I might prefer blue for simple comfort. Being USB-C rechargeable means there's always a dongle near by to top off with and you can use it witht the same power banks you use for your phone and other common equipment. I also feel better about not contributing to the mountain of AAA batteries piling up in landfills. All in all a great light."
