Perfect for long backpacking trips

"The waterproof mitts are worth their weight in gold when you're trying to pack up a tent in the rain. They also bump the warmth up significantly when the wind is howling. Love 'em!"

Absolutely recommend these gloves!

"I use these for touring, nordic skiing, and running and they are awesome! I always start with the hood on (even if it isn't storming) because it helps keep the heat in, once my hands get too hot I take the hood off. I wasn't expecting the touchscreen fingertips to actually work, but they are really good. The only part I find unnecessary is the hole for a watch. I don't wear a watch so it just leaves a little hole on my wrist. Also I love the color, they are so cute!!!"

Laura S. (5/5)

Almost perfect

"These gloves were pretty awesome to use during my hike in the Grand Canyon, they helped keep my hands warm while we were on the move without them overheating and getting super sweaty. I don’t love that the storm hood doesn’t neatly tuck away. I had to constantly keep adjusting them back into the little pocket. They also don’t seem that durable, the stitching has already come undone on one of the gloves. I did put them through their paces, but 5 days of use before they started coming apart didn’t feel great. Otherwise I would highly recommend"

Amazing

"Best running gloves I have ever owned - practical, high quality, wouldn’t change anthtinf"

Christopher F. (5/5)

Asset

"Added the wind protection to an already solid pair of gloves. Great fit, true to size. Good active glive"

Nicholas M. (5/5)

MIxed bag. Annoying.

"The grid fleece hand portion of these gloves are great. . . . unfortunately the wrist is constructed from Lycra and holds sweat until it is sopping wet during high-output activities like trail running. Black diamond designers need to pay attention to hydrophilic materials like Lycra."

Bret W. (3/5)

Not durable

"After wearing only a few times the palm of one hand has a hole. They do block the wind and warm. The watch cutout is nice but annoying. Pouch for the mitten can be bulky."

Jamie G. (3/5)

4-stars

"I purchased these in addition to a pair of overmitts. I like the convertible option but they could use a bit more stretch to the mitten part of the glove. It’s challenging at times to take on and off. Personally, I should’ve sized up. I have small hands and purchased an XS when I should have went with the S or M so that I could use the watch cutout and they’d be easier to take on and off. I didn’t want to return/exchange bc it seemed like a hassle."

Andrea S. (4/5)

It’s okay to not always Start Cold and Bold

"I live in the PNW and run 30-40 miles a week through the winter. These gloves have turned into a daily driver this winter for me. They will get sweaty/wet if it’s raining and you’re running for 30+ min, but in my mind that’s not the point. They keep my hands warm until my circulation can actually do its job. Then I pull the mitts off and have great run. They have also been awesome on some cold windy days where you don’t want ton of insulation but normal fleece gloves don’t do anything. If you plan on holding things with the mittens on maybe size up."

Gridtech Storm Hood Gloves

"Wore the Gridtech Storm Hood Gloves on the Tour Du Mont Blanc Hike and loved how they fit and kept my hands warm and dry during the changing weather on the Alps ."
