Reviews

Worth it.

"Edges surprisingly well. Climbing overhangs well too. Not really downturnsed enough for 90⁰ but still climbs them pretty well. Go ½ bigger, they do strech a little. Secure feeling on very small edges forsure."

Heal hook master

"I got these shoes exclusively for a specific heal hook on a boulder. I typically climb in TC pros and solutions but the heals on those are flimsy and bad compared to these. I have been really happy with there performance and definitely like it more than the other aggressive climbing shoes."

fantastic climbing shoe for intermediate climbers!

"I’ve been climbing in the Black Diamond Method Climbing Shoes for a wide range of routes—from 5. 7 up to 5. 13—and they’ve been a fantastic shoe. What impressed me most was the comfort right out of the box. The break-in process was quick and painless compared to other performance shoes I’ve worn, and they maintained a snug, precise fit without creating hot spots. The sensitivity and secure feel give me confidence on both technical face climbs and steeper sport routes. The Velcro closure makes them easy to take on and off between burns, which is huge during projecting sessions. Overall, they strike a great balance between performance and comfort, making them a reliable choice for climbers progressing into harder grades."

Supportive and Comfortable—Perfect All-Around Gym Shoe!

"The Method climbing shoes are fantastic for gym climbing! They provide great support and feel secure on all types of holds. I was impressed by how quickly they broke in—just a couple of sessions and they felt perfect. One tip: definitely order a half size larger than your street shoe for the best fit. The shoes are snug but comfortable, and they perform well on everything from slabs to overhangs. Highly recommend these as an all-around gym shoe!"

These Shoes Belay My Soul

"Yo, these kicks are straight-up rock magnets. It’s my second pair ‘cause the first ones were so hard I wore ‘em into the stone age. They grip the wall like a gecko on espresso—seriously, I felt like Spider-Man after a yoga retreat. Fit-wise? They run a bit roomy, so size down if you want that sweet toe-squeeze that makes you feel one with the rock. Not quite foot-crushing, but definitely foot-hugging. Like a cozy bear hug from a mountain goat. If you're lookin’ to send with style and stickier than a my excuses after falling off a V2, these are your jam. Black Diamond nailed it harder than my last dyno attempt (which, for the record, was almost graceful)."

great, run true to size

"I loved them but sizing was tough"

Kyle M. (5/5)

Semi aggressive shoe

"Great for someone getting into climbing"

Evan C. (5/5)

These shoes have potential

"I really wanted to love these shoes. The build quality and materials are great. However, the design of the shoe leaves room to be desired. I typically would wear a size US 10, so I got one size larger based on other reviewers (US 10. 5). I was able to wear them with a moderate level of toe curl; which is expected since they're a high performance shoe. While climbing with them, they were extremely painful the first few sessions. The shoes left my toes entirely bruised and blistered. I am going to continue using the shoes to see if they improve over time. I feel these shoes could have benefited greatly from having more three dimensional toe box to accommodate for toe curl, wider asymmetric toe box and more consistent sizing."

Patrick B. (3/5)

A great intermediate shoe!

"So nice out of the box, I got a second pair. Methods are my goto shoes for getting my training in. Snug like a sock, sticky enough for me to be bold."

Ross P. (5/5)

New favorite performance shoe

"These have become my new favorite all-around performance shoe. Great for technical sport climbing and bouldering alike, surprisingly comfortable and amazing durability. I've had a pair for over a year and they've lasted for about 30-40 outdoor days on coarse granite and limestone, which feels like about twice as long as other comparable shoes. I've owned about 40 pairs of shoes from all brands over the years and these are up there with my favorite 2 or 3 shoes of all time."
