flimsy zipper

"Purchased this jacket at the end of January. Literally wore it 3x and the zipper ripped. Requested a repair but got a generic response from the warranty department offering to send me a new jacket. I have contacted BD several times via phone and email requesting to speak with someone directly regarding simply getting the jacket repaired. I do not want another cheap zippered jacket. I even offered to pay for the repair even though this clearly is a warranty issue. Crickets. No response. So when the request for a review came up in my email I thought well here ya go. I generally like the jacket. It is very warm and packs really nicely in it's pocket. I can carry this on long alpine routes and feel toasty warm. However, it is way too big. The hood is ginormous and does not have any pull strings to pull it in tight over a helmet. And the zipper. . . . well I think I made my point earlier with the zipper. I will send this jacket off to a seamstress to be repaired. I am not interested in wasting material and resources. But I am very disappointed in BD. This is not the quality control and customer service I have come to appreciate and admire. You can do better."

NOT AS DESCRIBED

"Ho adjustability in hood. Designed to fit over a helmet and way too big to retain warmth otherwise with no way to tighten. Both description of product and hand tag on garment say hood is adjustable."

Wonderful jacket

"Extremely light but one of the most perfect ones for cold conditions. Nice design"

Deploy Down Hoody

"I bought this to wear for my first thru hike. SO far, I've worn it around town and love it. I can't wait to test it out this summer on the CO Trail."

Lightweight Down at it's finest.

"If you're looking for a lightweight, active down hoody then this is the best you're going to find. So light, I barely even know it's there and packs down small enough to stow in my running vest. Stow pocket on the inside to hold my wallet if needed around town. Remember this is an active piece so you won't find the standard pockets but if used for its intended purpose you don't need that. Women's Medium fits me great. I'm 5'7" 155# with very athletic build and broad shoulders. Loose in all the right places for me to run and climb in. I haven't had the hoody all that Long so longevity is yet to be assessed but if like other BD products, I imagine this won't be an issue."
