I LOVE this pack

"I picked up this backpack for a dedicated backcountry skiing pack. It is super comfortable, light weight, and easy to pack/unpack. It is the perfect size to carry my Avy gear, snacks, water, and layers for a day in the mountains. The pockets in the waist belt are ideal for carrying little things I want access to (e. g. , chapstick, small snacks). Overall the backpack has just enough zipper pockets for the items I need to keep track of (1 inside and 1 outside) and access, while still being simple in design. The side-access zipper works great for digging out something from the bottom without opening everything from the top. I like being able to carry skis A-frame and diagonal and that it comes with a helmet carry. There is literally nothing I would change. Love it."

Durable, lightweight, almost waterproof!

"I got this pack for wet PNW days since I was looking for something lighter weight and more water resistant than my other nylon pack (that can take days to dry if it gets soaked). The Cirque Ultra 35 exceeded expectations: the exterior material is super durable and waterproof, keeping the interior almost entirely dry. Some moisture can get in because the outer compartment for avy rescue gear has two small openings at the bottom (to let the compartment drain) and the material between the rescue gear compartment and the main compartment seems to be not entirely waterproof. However, the Cirque Ultra always dries quickly and is ready for more adventures the next day. The pack has many pocket options: one on each hip, one accessible from the exterior above the shoulder straps, one to hold a water bladder, and one interior zippered pocket with a clip for keys. The purple diagonal ski carry strap on the right shoulder is different than what’s pictured in the stock photo; it’s partially stretchy with a mini carabiner on the end, letting you go around the top of a set of skis (carried diagonally) and clip to the shoulder strap. The roll-top makes this pack feel slightly bigger than 35L and there are two options to close the roll-top once rolled: clip together at top center or connect each clip down on either side. Many of the straps are girth-hitched and removable, making them easy to remove if you don’t need them to carry a snowboard/snowshoes or skis (diagonally). The only issue I’ve had with it after several ski wet tours is that the built-in helmet carrier got ripped (maybe in the parking lot?). Of note, the size guide indicated I’d be a S/M (top of iliac crest to C7), but after trying on a S/M and having the straps hit way below my shoulders when the waist belt was on my hips, it was obvious a M/L would fit best (though I have to pull the waist belt almost as tight as it goes, especially when I don’t have many layers on). Better sizing and a few minor tweaks could make it even better: include a whistle in the chest harness buckle and make the helmet carrier material more durable."

Good But Features Section Misleading

"Definitely a solid pack and an upgrade from the long standing Cirque Series packs. I like the material, pockets and ability to strip most of the parts. However, in the features section it's listed that you can strip the waste belt and the frame sheet and ice too attachment. I cannot see a way to strip these three parts. Also, the ice tool attachment is very difficult to use with two axes (petzl ride). Because the the two sides are on one elastic string, it's very tight once one axe is in and makes it hard to get the aluminum piece through the second axe."

Carries well

"Just had the maiden voyage with the Cirque 35, and it impressed me. I had around 15+ # and it carried it very nicely. The pack moved well with me and went on and off easily. The materials are top notch, and the zippered pocket is handy. It took a bit to figure it all out because it comes with lots of attachment bits that come off, and I didn’t understand how the ice ax carrier worked until someone showed me. Really? What’s wrong with loops? One gripe is the size - duh of course I know I bought a 35, but a 40 or 45 in this pack would be very desirable. I plan on using it a lot in the BC this winter, and I know I will appreciate the shovel pocket. Compares well with the competition (could be a bit bigger!) and I’d buy it again."
